What is Actuarial –General insurance at EY?

What will you be doing?

  • Analysing data, writing reports, communicating with clients and building proposals for new business pitches
  • Working with local and global insurance and reinsurance companies
  • Using modelling and analysis techniques to understand clients’ businesses

Are you eligible to apply?

You’ll need a minimum of Level 2/GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language & Maths, three A-levels (with an A in A-level Maths), 5 Highers or equivalent, and an honours degree (in a numbers-based subject like maths, statistics, actuarial, science, physics or economics) by the time the programme starts.

Our graduate programme lasts two years however, EY will provide continued support and training to help graduates to qualify as actuaries, which typically takes 3-5 years in total.

Dependent on location, salaries start from £27,600 per year

What's it like?

How's it structured?

Starting with a full induction and supported by your team throughout, you’ll soon start working with clients, analysing data and using modelling techniques to get to know
their businesses and challenges. It’s the best way to learn and before long you’ll be helping junior colleagues, stepping into a senior role and winning new business. We’ll also give you time (and a generous allowance) to study for your professional qualifications, as well as technical and software training, and opportunities to
attend many events and conferences.
